Outdoor Hour Challenge -Autumn Ash Tree Study

The Handbook of Nature Study lesson for the ash tree suggests that you make autumn observations and then return to your tree in the spring to continue your study. Why not make this the beginning of a yearlong tree study focusing on an ash in your neighborhood?

Another idea found in the archived nature study for the ash tree is to make close observations of the tree bark. This is a wonderful alternative study if you don’t have an ash and can be completed with any tree bark you choose from your yard or neighborhood.
